Biography
Dr. ZOU received her Ph.D. from the Second Xiangya Hospital of Central South University. Her research endeavors, spanning both doctoral studies and postgraduate professional work, have been dedicated to elucidating the mechanisms and therapeutic strategies of diabetes-related diseases. Specifically, her work encompasses the immunopathogenic mechanisms underlying type 1 diabetes and its complications, and the rational design and development of combination therapies leveraging insulin-sensitizing adipokines with robust anti-diabetic properties.
Dr. Junda ZHONG 鐘俊達

Biography
Mr. Zhong Junda graduated in 2016 from Sun Yat-sen University and received his master’s degree and training of physician at Southern Medical School. He is currently a Research Assistant at the Department of Medicine, The University of Hong Kong. He received his training under the supervision of Prof. Aimin Xu in The University of Hong Kong. He has been working on diabetes and lipid metabolism as well as using mice and cell models.

Biography
Dr. WAN Pei is currently a Senior Technical Officer in SKLPB. He received his BSc in Mathematics at the University of Liao Cheng in 2008, MSc in Biochemistry at The University of Ji Lin in 2011, and PhD in Clinical Medicine at the University of Hong Kong in 2025.

Ms. Yao has been a Research Assistant at the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Hong Kong since 2022. After receiving her Master of Medicine degree from Guangdong Pharmaceutical University in 2020, she worked as a Research Assistant at the Shenzhen Institute of Agricultural Genomics of the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences until 2022.

Biography
Miss Lihong Wu is currently a Research Assistant in the Department of Medicine, School of Clinical Medicine at the University of Hong Kong. She received her bachelor's degree from Shenyang Pharmaceutical University in 2017 and her master's degree from Guangdong Pharmaceutical University in 2020.

Biography
Jue Wang received her Master’s degree training at the Harbin Veterinary Research Institute, Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences, where she worked on the development of monoclonal antibodies targeting avian coronavirus spike proteins. In August 2025, she joined Professor Aimin Xu’s research group as a Research Assistant. She is currently based in Shenzhen, focusing on antibody production and bioreactor-based cell culture.

Biography
Mr. Yucheng Luo is currently a Student Research Assistant at the Department of Medicine, The University of Hong Kong. He received his Bachelor of Medicine from Shenzhen University. He is currently pursuing his Master of Surgery (Plastic Surgery) at Southern Medical University and is a visiting student at the State Key Laboratory of Biopharmaceutical Technology. His research focuses on adipose tissue metabolic aging, bioinformatics and AI4Biology, as well as biomedical research and discovery driven by data and cutting-edge methods.
Dr. Mengxue JIANG 姜夢雪

Jiang Mengxue obtained bachelor’s degree from Anhui medical university and master’s degree from Xiamen university. She completed her Ph.D. in the Department of Pharmacology and Pharmacy at The University of Hong Kong, where she currently works as a Research Assistant.
Mr. Zhaowei MA 馬兆偉

Biography
Zhaowei Ma is a Research Assistant in the Department of Medicine at the University of Hong Kong. He completed his undergraduate studies in Biochemistry at the University of Manchester and later obtained a Master’s degree in Advanced Biomedical Imaging from University College London. His research experience includes molecular biology techniques, mammalian cell culture, protein expression and purification, and immunoassay development. At HKU, his work mainly focuses on antibody production and optimization using CHO cells, transient transfection, and fermentation-based expression systems, alongside ELISA and CLIA platforms for protein analysis. He is particularly interested in neurodegenerative diseases, especially Parkinson’s disease, with a focus on α-synuclein biology, early-stage diagnostic biomarkers, and translating antibody-based detection methods into practical diagnostic tools.
Ms. Jingwen RUAN 阮靜雯

Recombinant protein engineering, focusing on Bacterial and mammalian cell expression platform and downstream purification system.
Biography
Jingwen RUAN obtained her Bachelor’s degree in Pharmaceutical Engineering from Fuzhou University and completed her Master’s degree in Epidemiology and Biostatistics at The University of Hong Kong. She is currently working on recombinant protein engineering, with a focus on bacterial and mammalian cell expression platforms and downstream purification systems. Her work involves optimizing protein expression and purification workflows to support the development of robust and efficient protein production processes.
Ms. Shanshan PENG 彭珊珊

Peng Shanshan received her PhD degree from Zhejiang University with a project of antibody screening and functional identification.
Mr. Pin LI 李品

Biography
Mr. LI Pin graduated from Zhejiang University in 2016 with a Bachelor’s degree in Veterinary Medicine. After two years of working holiday experience in Australia, he joined a biotech startup in 2018, focusing on cell therapy and antibody-based therapeutics research. His work spans phage/yeast display antibody screening, functional validation, in vitro and in vivo assays, and process scale-up from lab to pilot production. Hs is proficient in molecular cloning, vector construction, protein/antibody purification and mammalian cell culture, with end-to-end biopharmaceutical R&D experience. Mr. LI currently working as a Research Assistant in our laboratory.
